The Production Team

Armen Aghaeian, CEO/Partner, Armen Aghaeian, CEO/Partner of New Artist Pictures, started out as a freelance cinematographer, developing and filming for the fashion, toy and corporate industry. For the past nine years, Mr. Aghaeian has been producing feature films with Edward Mokhtarian. With degrees in film and business finance, he has been working closely with Mr. Mokhtarian in the development of several feature films through their New Artist Pictures label.

Mr. Aghaeian has numerous accomplishments in his field, most notably winning an MTV Movie Award for Best Digital Short in 2008. He produced, directed and co-wrote the comedy spoof Juno: Redeux based on Fox Searchlight's hit film, Juno.

His most recently produced film is Tragedy Girls (2017), based on an original screenplay by Tyler MacIntyre and Chris Hill. The story is a twist on the slasher genre following two death-obsessed teenage girls who use their online show about real-life tragedies to send their small mid-western town into a frenzy and cement their legacy as modern horror legends. It stars Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse), Craig Robinson (This Is The End, Hot Tub Time Machine), Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games), Jack Quaid (Vinyl, Hunger Games), Kevin Durand (X-Men: Wolverine, Fruitvale Station).

Edward Mokhtarian, President/Partner, has served as a film financier and executive producer for the development and production of feature films since 2007. Mr. Mokhtarian has been has been producing feature films through their New Artist Pictures label and working closely with Mr. Aghaeian in the development of several feature films.
